And he's almost flying - I think he's gonna be leaving home very shortly
Found him yesterday evening looking very shell-shocked. He had tried to hide himself (dunno why I call him a he but there you go) as best he could behind one of my hedges. Wasn't sure what to do so checked out the RSPB website and apparently this is very common for young babies to leave the nest and spend a few days grounded until their feathers are developed enough for them to fly off.
Great advice on the website.. so I placed my watering can so as to protect the little 'un from the elements and hopefully any passing cats..
Today oh joy of joys mum has returned to him to feed him and it was a real sight to behold... mum was in the middle of my lawn just literally a few feet from where I was sat in the garden and little 'un came running out to greet mum. Mum is regularly returning to feed him so I've left him be. He's well sheltered tonight tucked well away in my shrubs...
Hopefuly tomorrow he's gonna learn to fly.. absolutely fantastic to watch... after watching them together at such a close proximity, I went off to get my camera but it's just typical.. camera in hand and mum hasn't come back... maybe I'll catch it on film tomorrow.
One of our very good friends has been battling lung cancer since August of last year.. She's recently finished chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but was rushed into hospital last Sunday night and they've now found another well established and aggressive tumour on her brain. They have estimated that she has about 3 months left with us. She's been allowed out for the weekend but has to go back into hospital for a course of radiotherapy over 5 days.
... when us girls "know" that we know best!
This really isn't meant as a sexist remark, but hey I bet it happens all the time.
Yesterday we take a drive out to buy a bracket and fixings to put our TV on the wall. I say to Danny "shouldn't we go to the shop where we bought the TV?" He says: "no need, they are standard and will fit any TV".
Well he spends the whole of yesterday afternoon drilling holes in the wall. Everything is ready to put in place and yes, you guessed it, the TV mountings didn't fit the TV. So today it all goes back and I find out they are not standard, you have to buy the right one for your make and model of TV. So now we are left with TV still sitting on cabinet and holes to look at in the wall.
Aaaah what a bleak, grey, misterable Sunday... having watched the Eurovision song contest last nite (that's enough to depress anyone), woken up to yet another grey, wet, dreary day. All I want to do is get out and do a bit of work in the garden, but it's waterlogged and all the outdoor jobs have been put off again for another weekend. Desperately need to get my bedding plants in - a job I love doing.
I was heavily influenced by Joe's blog and just had to have a go myself.. so feel free to influence how my daemon will turn out. Is the way I perceive myself the same as the way others see me..
So feel free to take the quiz to have an impact on what my daemon finally ends up to be.. you only have 12 days left...
Well it's been health and wellbeing week at work. I had my assessment today.. and shock horror and I now have to do something about it and pdq...
For my height/weight/bmi, I am now officially classed as obese. My blood pressure at 139/95 is high and my cholesterol at 6.3 is also high... The only thing that is still normal is my blood/sugar level..
So my new health and fitness regime starts on Monday 7 May. I will return to the gym next week and rejoin slimming world.. I have no choice now and this is the kickstart that I've needed
So watch this space...
Since moving into our new house, we've been woken at night on numerous occasions by birds singing... this has puzzled us no end and we've just found the answer as to why this phenomenon happens... that is unless Danny has got me on a wind-up... cos I'm very gullible. But he swears blind it's deadly serious...
Well we finally did it... thanks Steve for the connection help... it's all working a treat now (we did get some help though cos Mel insisted that Beefy come over and help)...
We've bought a new DVD/VCR combo and kinda got it set up... now we gotta set it up right! We'll be spending all of tomorrow trying to get the thing connected up right and getting the setup how we need to use it..
